THE COUNTY PRIMORSKO-GORANSKA

The territory of the County Primorsko-goranska (littoral-mountainous) covers cca 3600 sq.km. This territory has, after the last census in the year 1991. cca 323.500 inhabitants.
The county includes the coastal part of the Rijeka Bay with the background part and with the islands Rab, Krk, Cres and Losinj and a part of Gorski Kotar (mountainous district) with the border at the upper course of the river Kupa.
Consequently can the territory of this County be divided in three essential parts:

coastal part
islands
mountainous part.

An other division id following the Law for the local government and authonomy, where the territory of each County has towns and municipalities.
We have in this County 14 towns and 21 municipalities or 582 defined settlements.
