A vista from Dobrinj to Čižići
Čižići is a village belonging to Dobrinj, which once had a strong cattle-breeding tradition. It is a settlement of an open type, with house plots which are scattered in a small degree. The characteristics of the most part of residential structures is popular architectural creativity. Those are houses with one or more rooms, with gable roof covered with half-round tiles and stone staircase with vaulted terrace. Today those old structures are reconstructed into holiday houses and are gaining new shapes.
The numerosity and the form of outhouses and cattle-breeding structures in the settlement and its surroundings testifie the cattle-breeding culture of that part of the island of Krk, and especially of Dobrinj region. The old cattle-breeding culture of village Čižići is witnessed in particular with the concentration of outhouses, the so-called mošune on location Katići, Dolčići. The organization of the space interpreted with drystone walls indicates the cultural-historical outlook of north-Adriatic cultural circle of a distant historical dating.
